Dumpster Rental in Northglenn, CO
Dumpster Rental in Northglenn
Northglenn started in spring 1959 as Perl-Mack’s pre-planned subdivision in unincorporated Adams County. On June 30, 1959, more than 15,000 people came to see the first five show homes at what is now I-25 and 104th Avenue; by October 1962 there were 10,000 residents in 3,000 homes, and the city incorporated in 1969.
Sixty percent of Northglenn’s homes were built before 1980, so the typical job is a kitchen or bath remodel, a roof or an estate clean-out, with new-build work at Karl’s Farm, the old Hinkhouse dairy at 120th Avenue and Race Street. About 39,000 people live here. City Hall is about 12 miles from our yard by I-270 and I-25, and a call before noon often gets a same-day drop.

Northglenn’s code is broad about its streets. No one except City staff, or someone exempted by contract with the City, may undertake “any work in a public right-of-way” without first getting a City permit (§ 16-2-4), and “work” includes “any use or storage of equipment or materials within a public right-of-way” (§ 16-2-2). The applicant must be the contractor performing the work, with a contractor’s license, insurance and bonds (§ 16-2-6), permits run up to ninety days with one extension, and starting work without a permit costs $500 plus twice the permit fee (§ 16-2-29). The code does not mention dumpsters by name, so before any street placement we call the City’s right-of-way office (11701 Community Center Drive, 303-450-8984) rather than assume. On your own driveway or lot the City publishes no container rule. The City’s special bulky-item pickup does not take construction materials, and a demolition needs a City building permit (Building Division, 303-450-8745).
Northglenn dumpster rental questions
- Is a permit needed for a dumpster in Northglenn?Northglenn requires a City right-of-way permit for any work in a public right-of-way, including “any use or storage of equipment or materials,” and the applicant must be the contractor (§§ 16-2-2, 16-2-4, 16-2-6). The code does not name dumpsters, so we call the ROW office (303-450-8984) first; no City rule for your driveway.
- How quickly can you get to Northglenn?City Hall is about 12 miles from our yard by I-270 and I-25. A call before noon often gets a same-day drop; otherwise it is first thing the next morning.
- What size for a kitchen or bath remodel in a 1960s house?A 10 or 15-yard for most kitchen or bath jobs, a 20-yard if you are gutting more than one room or pulling old carpet too. See our sizes page or call and we will size it with you.
- Will the City’s bulky-item pickup take my old drywall and lumber? No. The City’s special pickup does not take construction materials, so drywall and lumber from a remodel need another route; a 10 or 15-yard on the driveway is the usual one.
