Dumpster Rental in Broomfield, CO
Dumpster Rental in Broomfield
Broomfield Heights, the original master-planned area, was begun in 1955 by the Turnpike Land Co., its First Filing north of 120th Avenue between Main Street and US 287. A third of the homes in that 80020 ZIP date from 1950 to 1979, and those are the remodel jobs. Broomfield has been its own consolidated city and county since November 15, 2001, and about 79,000 people live there.
North of 136th Avenue the city grew fast through the 2000s: in 80023 the median home was built in 2010, so the work is move-ins and remodels in newer subdivisions and multifamily buildings, plus commercial work around Interlocken. The government center on DesCombes Drive is about 16 miles from our yard by I-270 and US 36, so it is same-day or next morning depending on the route.

Broomfield publishes the most complete container rules of anywhere we serve. On a driveway or other private property, no permit is needed. On the street, a Container Permit from the Engineering Division is required once a dumpster or storage container stays more than 24 hours; it is good for up to 30 days, or 180 days with an active building permit. Each container needs reflectors on each side (at least 4 inches across) or 36-inch reflective cones, and placement rules apply: a container 6 feet or taller stays at least 30 feet from an intersection or crosswalk and 10 feet from a driveway (20 and 5 feet for a lower one), and every container stays 15 feet from a fire hydrant, 30 feet from a stop or yield sign, flashing beacon or community mailbox, off storm drains, sidewalks, tree lawns, travel lanes, alleys and no-parking zones, and out of drivers’ and pedestrians’ sight lines. The City publishes no fee for the permit, so we confirm it with Engineering (One DesCombes Drive, 303-438-6380) before any street placement. Broomfield itself says the preferred spot is your driveway. A demolition permit application goes to the Building Division with an approved state permit (303-438-6370).
Broomfield dumpster rental questions
- Is a permit needed for a dumpster in Broomfield? No permit in Broomfield for a container on your driveway or private property. On the street for more than 24 hours it needs a Container Permit from Engineering (303-438-6380): up to 30 days, or 180 with a building permit, with reflectors and set distances from intersections, driveways and hydrants.
- How far ahead should I book in Broomfield?A day ahead is safest. The government center is about 16 miles from our yard by I-270 and US 36, so it is same-day or next morning depending on the route.
- Do I need a permit for a dumpster on my driveway? No. Broomfield says no permit is required for a roll-off on a driveway or other private property, and the City prefers that spot. Only a street placement of more than 24 hours needs a Container Permit.
- How long can a permitted container stay on my street?Up to 30 days on a Broomfield Container Permit, or up to 180 days when there is an active building permit for the work. A driveway placement needs no permit, and the City publishes no time limit for it.
